We have recreated the scent of tree-ripened quince and paired it with an upscale kiss of wind-swept yellow fields. Every autumn in Santa Barbara, I knew the quinces were nearing their ripeness solely by the scent that enveloped the orchard as I made my way to them. The cajoling aroma of tart wild pear with a whisper of pineapple sage (for those of you who've never smelled a quince) will accompany you for up to 8 months. 8 oz. packaged and ready for gift giving.
