Conserva de Pérsimo
Although the conventional Spanish for persimmon is caqui (whose origins is the Japanese word 'kaki'), we grew up referring it to as pérsimo which is the local Mexican vernacular for the English word. Conserva is the age-old practice of preserving the harvest’s bounty to carry families through the winter and into spring with the reminder of the lush fruit that will one day return in the Summer.
The hand-picked Hachiya persimmon, grown in Santa Barbara, California, makes for a creamy and lush light amber soap whose complex sent will remind you of ambered persimmon with a nod towards the persimmon blossom, safely grounded with warm vetiver.
The three herbs in our logo albáhaca, ruda y romero (basil, rue and rosemary) are homage to our grandmothers who always grew them together to bring health, happiness and prosperity.
